The spritz traces its roots back to Veneto, Italy, the birthplace of Prosecco. Legend has it that during the 1800s, Austrian visitors in Italy would enhance Italian wines with a "spritz" (derived from the German word "spritz," meaning "splash") of soda water to create a lighter and more palatable beverage.
Here's what you'll need:
- 1 1/2 cups chilled white wine
- 1/2 cup chilled sparkling water or soda water
- Lemon slices, for garnish
- Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish
- Any additional fruits you’d like
- Ice cubes
- 2 glasses (this recipe is good for 2 servings)
Here’s how to make it:
- This recipe is literally so easy! Divide and pour the wine & water into 2 ice-filled glasses.
- Top with plenty of mint, lemon slices, & any fruit of choice (Options: blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, orange slices, etc.)
- Sip, dip, & enjoy!
